At Emergen, we are looking for a skilled and motivated Backend Engineer with expertise in Node, ExpressJS/NestJS, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB to join our dynamic development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building scalable backend systems and a passion for developing efficient and secure APIs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement server-side logic that powers our applications.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node, ExpressJS/NestJS.
2. Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
3. Optimize and maintain database systems (PostgreSQL and MongoDB) for high performance and scalability.
4. Implement security measures to protect data and ensure the integrity of our systems.
5. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
6. Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
7. Troubleshoot and debug issues in production and non-production environments.
8. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
9. Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and monitoring.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Backend Engineer or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Node.jsand frameworks such as ExpressJS or NestJS.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
• Understanding of RESTful API design and development.
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of GraphQL.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies.
